Channel state information dependent ack/nak bundling

An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• at least one processor coupled to the memory, the at least one processor being configured:
• to determine a capacity of a control channel based at least in part on whether multiplexing of acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) bits for a plurality of component carriers with periodic channel state information (CSI) is allowed;
• to determine a threshold for a number of ACK/NAK bits based at least in part on a payload size of the periodic CSI and the determined capacity;
• to bundle ACK/NAK bits when the number of ACK/NAK bits is greater than the determined threshold;
• and
• to transmit the ACK/NAK bits and the periodic CSI using the control channel.

An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

• means for determining a capacity of a control channel based at least in part on whether multiplexing of acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) bits for a plurality of component carriers with periodic channel state information (CSI) is allowed;
• means for determining a threshold for a number of ACK/NAK bits based at least in part on a payload size of the periodic CSI and the determined capacity;
• means for bundling ACK/NAK bits when the number of ACK/NAK bits is greater than the determined threshold;
• and
• means for transmitting the ACK/NAK bits and the periodic CSI using the control channel.

A computer program product for wireless communications, the computer program product comprising:

• a non-transitory computer-readable medium having program code recorded thereon, the program code comprising:
• program code to determine a capacity of a control channel based at least in part on whether multiplexing of acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) bits for a plurality of component carriers with periodic channel state information (CSI) is allowed;
• program code to determine a threshold for a number of ACK/NAK bits based at least in part on a payload size of the periodic CSI and the determined capacity;
• program code to bundle ACK/NAK bits when the number of ACK/NAK bits is greater than the determined threshold;
• and
• program code to transmit the ACK/NAK bits and the periodic CSI using the control channel.
