Devices, methods, and compositions for cleaning the tongue of an animal

A method for cleaning a tongue of an animal, comprising:

• grasping a tongue cleaning device comprising a handle at a proximal end and a head at a distal end, the head coupled to the handle such that the head is angled relative to the handle, wherein the head comprises a cleaning surface on a first side, the cleaning surface being configured to clean the tongue of the animal as the animal licks the cleaning surface;
• dispensing an oral care composition onto an outer surface of the cleaning surface of the tongue cleaning device;
• and
• presenting the tongue cleaning device to an animal to allow the animal to lick the oral care composition on the cleaning surface, whereby the licking action of the animal dislodges and loosens material on the surface of the tongue of the animal.

A tongue cleaning device configured to loosen and dislodge material on the surface of a tongue of an animal, the tongue cleaning device comprising:

• a base comprising a first side and a second side, the second side of the base being configured to abut with a flat surface;
• and
• a cleaning surface disposed on the first side of the base, the cleaning surface comprising:
• a first tongue scraper;
• a first plurality of bristles;
• a second tongue scraper;
• and
• a second plurality of bristles,
• wherein the first plurality of bristles is disposed on the cleaning surface between the first tongue scraper and the second tongue scraper, and
• wherein the second tongue scraper is disposed on the cleaning surface between the first plurality of bristles and the second plurality of bristles.

A method for cleaning the tongue of an animal, comprising:

• obtaining a tongue cleaning device comprising a cleaning surface, wherein the cleaning surface comprises:
• a first tongue scraper;
• a first plurality of bristles;
• a second tongue scraper;
• and
• a second plurality of bristles;
• the first plurality of bristles being disposed on the cleaning surface between the first tongue scraper and the second tongue scraper;
• the second tongue scraper being disposed on the cleaning surface between the first plurality of bristles and the second plurality of bristles;
• obtaining an oral care composition;
• dispensing the oral care composition onto the cleaning surface of the tongue cleaning device;
• and
• presenting the tongue cleaning device to an animal to allow the animal to lick the oral care composition dispensed onto the cleaning surface, whereby the licking action of the animal causes the cleaning surface to dislodge and loosen material on the surface of the tongue of the animal.
