Application Construction for Execution on Diverse Computing Infrastructures

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:

• receiving an application descriptor comprising information regarding an application;
• selecting available computing machine resources for execution of the application based on the information in the application descriptor;
• installing, on the selected computing machine resources, software resources comprising the application based on the information in the application descriptor;
• and
• configuring at least one of the selected computing machine resources and the installed software resources for execution of the application based on the information in the application descriptor.

A system comprising:

• a plurality of available computing machine resources thr execution of an application;
• at least one processor;
• and
• an application construction infrastructure comprising instructions that, when executed on the at least one processor,
• receive an application descriptor comprising information regarding the application;
• select available ones of the computing machine resources for execution of the application based on the information in the application descriptor;
• install, on the selected computing machine resources, software resources comprising the application based on the information in the application descriptor;
• and
• configure the at least one of the selected computing machine resources and the installed software resources for execution of the application based on the information in the application descriptor.
