Abstract
The present invention relates to a system and method for verifying the compatibility among the software components used in the software solution using an auto-license compatibility verifier. Further, the present invention provides the method for enabling the auto-license compatibility verifier, a tool for automatically and dynamically mapping the licensing information of the software components which are used in the software solution with respect to the already stored licensing information which are stored in the database.
Claims6
A computer-implemented method for verifying compatibility among two or more software components of a developed or conceptualized software solution, characterized by dynamically tracing licensing information of the software components relative to pre-stored licensing information stored in a database based on a user input, the method comprising steps of:
- a. receiving required software components along with their licensing information used in the developed or conceptualized software solution;
- b. categorizing the received software components based on their licensing information;
- c. mapping the licensing information of the categorized software components with the licensing information previously stored in the database for ensuring compatibility among the categorized software components;
- d. displaying pre-defined queries to the user based upon the mapped information and further prompting the user for responding upon the pre-defined queries for confirming compatibility or incompatibility of the software components, wherein the pre-defined queries are stored in the database and regularly updated based upon the user response;
- and
- e. generating a report based on the user response for verified and compatible software components.
A system for verifying compatibility among two or more software components of a developed or conceptualized software solution, characterized by dynamically tracing licensing information of the software components relative to pre-stored licensing information stored in a database based on a user input, the system comprising:
- a. a receiving module configured to receive required software components along with their licensing information that are used in the developed or conceptualized software solution;
- b. a categorizing module configured to categorize the received software components based on their licensing information;
- c. a mapping module configured to map the licensing information of the categorized software components with the licensing information previously stored in the database for ensuring compatibility among the categorized software components;
- d. an intelligent query module configured to display pre-defined queries to the user based on the mapped information and further configured to prompt the user for responding upon the displayed pre-defined queries for confirming the compatibility or incompatibility of the software components, wherein the pre-defined queries are stored in the database and regularly updated based upon the user response;
- and
- e. a generation module configured to generate a report based on the user response for verified and compatible software components.
