Sample analyzer and computer program product

A sample analyzer comprising:

• a measuring part for preparing a measurement sample from a blood sample or a body fluid sample that differs from the blood sample, and measuring the prepared measurement sample to detect a component derived from the blood sample or body fluid sample;
• a display;
• and
• a controller, wherein
• the controller causes the display to display a screen including a message that prompts an operator to measure a blank sample, which is free from a component derived from the blood sample or body fluid sample, with the measuring part to check a background of the measurement when detected amount of the component in the body fluid sample is equal to or excess over a threshold value.

A sample measuring method comprising:

• setting a sample analyzer with a blood measurement mode, wherein under operation of the blood measurement mode the sample analyzer is programmed to prepare a measurement sample from a blood sample and measure it to detect components in the blood sample;
• using the sample analyzer to measure a blood sample;
• setting the sample analyzer with a body fluid measurement mode, wherein under operation of the body fluid measurement mode the sample analyzer is programmed to prepare a measurement sample from a body fluid sample and measure it to detect components in the body fluid sample;
• and
• using the sample analyzer to measure a body fluid sample,
• wherein the sample analyzer is programmed to prepare a blank sample, which is free from a component derived from the blood sample or body fluid sample, and to measure the blank sample when the mode of the sample analyzer is switched from the blood measurement mode to the body fluid measurement mode.
