Mouthpiece for Woodwind Instrument with Improved Ligature

A mouthpiece assembly for a woodwind musical instrument comprising:

• a generally tapered front end, a rear end configured for mounting to the musical instrument, a generally cylindrical body between the front end and the rear end, an elongated central passage extending along a path between the front end and the rear end, the central passage having a forward section and a rear portion, a table configured for mounting a reed thereon with the reed extending across at least a portion of the passage, and a pair of generally parallel, oppositely extending rails;
• and
• a pair of ligatures configured to engage the rails and secure the reed to the table, the ligatures being independently movable along the rails.

A mouthpiece assembly for a woodwind musical instrument comprising:

• a front end, a rear end configured for mounting to the musical instrument, a generally cylindrical body extending between the front end and the rear end, a passage extending along a path between the front end and the rear end, the central passage having generally planar opening defining a forward section, and a rear portion, and a table configured for mounting a reed thereon with the reed extending across at least a portion of the window, and a pair of generally parallel, oppositely extending rails;
• a pair of ligatures configured to engage the rails and secure the reed to the table, the ligatures being independently movable along the mouthpiece.
