Abstract
A computer implemented method of managing an adapter includes determining that an adapter is assigned to an operating system and generating a single root input/output virtualization (SR-IOV) function associated with the adapter. The SR-IOV function may be correlated to a non-SR-IOV function, and the non-SR-IOV function may be used to modify an operational status of the adapter.
Claims20
A method of managing an adapter, the method comprising:
- determining an adapter is assigned to an operating system;
- generating a single root input/output virtualization (SR-IOV) function associated with the adapter;
- correlating the SR-IOV function to a non-SR-IOV function;
- and
- using the non-SR-IOV function to modify an operational status of the adapter.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a processor;
- a memory storing program code, the program code executable by the processor to:
- determine an adapter is assigned to an operating system;
- generate a single root input/output virtualization (SR-IOV) function associated with the adapter;
- correlate the SR-IOV function to a non-SR-IOV function;
- and
- use the non-SR-IOV function to modify an operational status of the adapter.
A computer program product comprising a computer usable medium having computer usable program code embodied therewith, the computer usable program code executable by a processor to:
- determine an adapter is assigned to an operating system;
- generate a single root input/output virtualization (SR-IOV) function associated with the adapter;
- correlate the SR-IOV function to a non-SR-IOV function;
- and
- use the non-SR-IOV function to modify an operational status of the adapter.
