Action alignment for event planning, project management and process structuring

A method of creating an event plan having tasks to be completed for a proposed event, comprising:

• receiving a user query representing the proposed event, by executing first instructions in a computer system;
• matching the user query to a plurality of potential tasks, by executing second instructions in the computer system;
• receiving an anticipated date for the proposed event;
• presenting a selectable list of the potential tasks, by executing third instructions in the computer system, wherein said presenting includes providing a lead time required for at least one of the potential tasks relative to the anticipated date;
• receiving a user selection for a set of tasks from among the potential tasks, by executing fourth instructions in the computer system;
• and
• saving the set of tasks as the event plan, by executing fifth instructions in the computer system.

A method of designing an event plan for a proposed event, comprising:

• transmitting a query representing the proposed event to a search engine of a database having various tasks associated with searchable indicia, by executing first instructions in a computer system;
• receiving a list of potential tasks for the proposed event provided by the search engine in response to the query, by executing second instructions in the computer system, wherein the list of potential tasks includes at least one vendor package specifically associated with one of the potential tasks;
• and
• selecting a set of tasks from among the potential tasks for the event plan, by executing third instructions in the computer system;
• and
• selecting the vendor package for inclusion in the event plan.

A method of associating vendor information with a specified service for a proposed event, comprising:

• receiving a vendor query representing a service, by executing first instructions in a computer system;
• matching the vendor query to a plurality of potential services, by executing second instructions in the computer system;
• presenting a list of the potential services wherein the list includes the specified service, by executing third instructions in the computer system;
• receiving vendor information for the specified service wherein the vendor information includes at least a vendor identifier, a cost, and a lead time, by executing fourth instructions in the computer system;
• and
• associating the vendor information with the specified service, by executing fifth instructions in the computer system.
