Qualifying data and associated metadata during a data collection process

A data processing system for processing metadata associated with a clinical trial, the data processing system comprising:

• a data processing device comprising at least one processor component and a memory;
• and
• wherein the data processing device:
• receives data from a client computer, wherein the data comprises clinical data and administrative data, wherein the administrative data is embedded within the data as metadata,
• extracts the administrative data,
• determines compliance of the administrative data with a clinical trial data acquisition protocol, and
• if compliant, enters the data in a database or record as clinical trial data, or if not compliant, provides an opportunity to correct the administrative data before entering the data in the database or record as clinical trial data.
