A biocompatible composition for tissue augmentation comprising crosslinked recombinant gelatin-like protein and crosslinked hyaluronic acid, wherein the recombinant gelatin-like protein is free of homo- or heterotrimeric structures and wherein the mass ratio between the recombinant gelatin-like protein and the hyaluronic acid is in the range of from 60:40 to 5:95 and wherein the in vivo degradation time of the composition is at least 1 month.
