Methods and apparatus for deployment and control of small cells

An apparatus for performing power control for a femto node deployed in a wireless network, comprising:

• at least one processor configured to:
• determine a radio frequency (RF) environment parameter of a femto node related to a location in a coverage area;
• receive a different RF environment parameter related to other femto nodes at the location in the coverage area;
• and
• adjust a transmission parameter of the femto node based on the RF environment parameter and the different RF environment parameter;
• and
• a memory coupled to the at least one processor.

A computer program product for performing power control for a femto node deployed in a wireless network, comprising:

• a non-transitory computer-readable medium, comprising:
• code for causing at least one computer to determine a radio frequency (RF) environment parameter of a femto node related to a location in a coverage area;
• code for causing the at least one computer to receive a different RF environment parameter related to other femto nodes at the location in the coverage area;
• and
• code for causing the at least one computer to adjust a transmission parameter of the femto node based on the RF environment parameter and the different RF environment parameter.
