Portable Heating Apparatus for Heating Interior Piping Systems

A method of using a portable heating unit with a piping system, comprising the steps of

• providing a portable heating chamber with a heating element having a single inlet end for directing air into the chamber and a single outlet end;
• providing one path of air flow between the single inlet end and the single outlet end of the chamber;
• providing a manifold having a first inlet end a second inlet end, and a first outlet end and a second outlet end;
• attaching at least one of the first inlet end and the second inlet end to the outlet end of the heating chamber;
• attaching at least one of the first outlet end and the second outlet end of the manifold to a piping system;
• generating heated air from the outlet end of the heating chamber;
• passing the heated air from one of the first outlet end and the second outlet end of the manifold into the piping system;
• and
• heating interior surfaces of the piping system.

A portable heater unit, comprising:

• a portable heating chamber with a heating element having one inlet end for directing air into the chamber and one outlet end for emitting heated air therefrom, the chamber for providing one path of air flow between the single inlet end and the single outlet end;
• a manifold having a first inlet end a second inlet end for drawing air therethrough, the manifold having a first outlet end and a second outlet end for passing air therefrom, at least one of the first inlet end and the second inlet end being attached to the outlet end of the heating chamber;
• and
• quick disconnect fittings attached to the inlet end of the heating chamber, and attached to at least one of the first inlet end and the second inlet end of the manifold, and attached to at least one of the first outlet end and the second outlet end of the manifold.
