Components with microchannel cooling

A component comprising:

• a substrate comprising an outer surface, an inner surface and a tip, wherein the inner surface defines at least one hollow, interior space, wherein the tip comprises a tip cap enclosing the at least one hollow, interior space, wherein the outer surface defines one or more grooves, and wherein each groove extends at least partially along an outer surface of the tip cap and has a base;
• and
• a coating disposed over at least a portion of the outer surface of the substrate, wherein the coating comprises at least a structural coating, wherein the structural coating extends over the one or more grooves, such that the one or more grooves and the structural coating together define one or more channels for cooling the component,
• wherein the tip comprises a tip cap enclosing the at least one hollow, interior space, and wherein each cooling channel extends at least partially along the tip cap.

A component comprising:

• a substrate comprising an outer surface, an inner surface and a tip, wherein the inner surface defines at least one hollow, interior space, wherein the outer surface defines one or more grooves, and wherein each groove extends at least partially along the outer surface of the substrate and has a base;
• and
• a coating disposed over at least a portion of the outer surface of the substrate, wherein the coating comprises at least a structural coating, wherein the structural coating extends over the one or more grooves, such that the one or more grooves and the structural coating together define one or more channels for cooling the component,
• wherein the tip comprises:
• a tip cap enclosing the at least one hollow, interior space, and
• a tip rim disposed at a radially outer end of the substrate, wherein each cooling channel extends at least partially along the tip rim.

A component comprising:

• a substrate comprising an outer surface, an inner surface and a tip, wherein the inner surface defines at least one hollow, interior space, wherein the outer surface defines one or more grooves, and wherein each groove extends at least partially along the outer surface of the substrate and has a base;
• and
• a coating disposed over at least a portion of the outer surface of the substrate, wherein the coating comprises at least a structural coating, wherein the structural coating extends over the one or more grooves, such that the one or more grooves and the structural coating together define one or more channels for cooling the component,
• wherein the tip comprises:
• a tip cap enclosing the at least one hollow, interior space, and
• a tip rim disposed at a radially outer end of the substrate and having a tip shelf,
• wherein the substrate defines a pressure sidewall and a suction sidewall, wherein the pressure and suction sidewalls are joined together at a leading edge and at a trailing edge of the component and extend from a root of the component to the tip of the component, wherein at least one channel extends at least partially along the pressure sidewall and intersects the tip shelf.
