Reference signal design for coordinated multipoint transmission

Apparatus, comprising:

• an interface, which is configured to communicate with a set of transmission points that operate in accordance with a Coordinated Multipoint (CoMP) transmission scheme;
• and
• at least one processor, which is configured to control the transmission points to simultaneously transmit a composite Reference Signal (RS) to a mobile communication terminal, to receive from the terminal feedback, which is estimated in the terminal based on the composite RS received in the terminal, the feedback being indicative of a response of a composite communication channel between the transmission points and the terminal, and to configure subsequent transmission from the transmission points based on the received feedback.
