Information processing system, image forming apparatus, management method, and storage medium

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• a collecting unit configured to collect device configuration information retained by the image forming apparatus;
• a holding unit configured to the hold operation setting information that switches an operation of image forming apparatus;
• and
• an update unit configured to update the operation setting information held by the holding unit,
• wherein a handover condition as to whether the setting corresponding to the setting item that is corresponding to a changed content of device configuration information is handed over to the operation setting information of the image forming apparatus after being replaced and changing information indicating whether or not a user has changed the setting from an initial value are associated with the operation setting information for the each setting item;
• an outputting unit configured to output to an external device output information including device configuration information of the image forming apparatus before being replaced collected by the collecting unit and the operation setting information of the image forming apparatus held by the holding unit when the image forming apparatus is replaced;
• an inputting unit configured to input the output information from the external device to image forming apparatus after being replaced when the image forming apparatus has been replaced;
• and
• a displaying unit configured to display a screen that prompts a reset of the setting item required for the reset,
• wherein the update unit
• acquires the operation setting information included in the output information that is input after the image forming apparatus has been replaced as first operation setting information as well as the operation setting information held by the holding unit as second operation setting information,
• compares the device configuration information retained by the image forming apparatus before being replaced collected by the collecting unit with the device configuration information retained by the image forming apparatus after being replaced collected by the collecting unit to thereby specify the changed content of the device configuration information accompanied with replacement of the image forming apparatus,
• determines whether or not to hand over the setting of the first operation setting information to the setting of the second operation setting information for the each setting item of the second operation setting information based on the specified device configuration information and the handover condition associated with the first operation setting information,
• determines whether or not the setting item is required for the reset regarding the setting item of which the setting of the first the setting item first operation setting is not handed over to the setting of the second operation setting information based on the changed content of the changing information associated with the first operation setting information, and
• instructs the displaying unit to display the screen that prompts the reset of the setting item required for the reset as a result of the determination.

A management method in an information processing system comprising an image forming apparatus and a management apparatus that manages operation setting information for switching an operation in the image forming apparatus, the method comprising:

• generating, by the management apparatus, the operation setting information for applying to the image forming apparatus;
• transmitting, by the management apparatus, the generated operation setting information to the image forming apparatus via a network,
• determining, by the management apparatus, for each setting item whether or not to hand over a setting of first operation setting information indicating operation setting information corresponding to the image forming apparatus before being replaced to a setting of second operation setting information indicating operation setting information corresponding to the image forming apparatus after being replaced, and further determining whether or not the setting item not to be handed over to the second operation setting information as a result of determination is required for reset, and
• transmitting, by the management apparatus, the generated operation setting information for applying to the image forming apparatus after being replaced and the setting item required for the reset determined by the generating unit to the image forming apparatus after being replaced via the network, and
• acquiring, by the image forming apparatus, the operation setting information for applying to the image forming apparatus and the setting item required for the reset from the transmitting unit provided in the management apparatus;
• and
• displaying, by the image forming apparatus, a screen that prompts the reset of the acquired setting item required for the reset.

A non-transitory storage medium on which is stored a computer program for making a computer execute a management method in an information processing system comprising an image forming apparatus and a management apparatus that manages operation setting information for switching an operation in the image forming apparatus, the method comprising:

• generating, by the management apparatus, the operation setting information for applying to the image forming apparatus;
• transmitting, by the management apparatus, the generated operation setting information to the image forming apparatus via a network,
• determining, by the management apparatus, for each setting item whether or not to hand over a setting of first operation setting information indicating operation setting information corresponding to the image forming apparatus before being replaced to a setting of second operation setting information indicating operation setting information corresponding to the image forming apparatus after being replaced, and further determining whether or not the setting item not to be handed over to the second operation setting information as a result of determination is required for reset, and
• transmitting, by the management apparatus, the generated operation setting information for applying to the image forming apparatus after being replaced and the setting item required for the reset determined by the generating unit to the image forming apparatus after being replaced via the network, and
• acquiring, by the image forming apparatus, the operation setting information for applying to the image forming apparatus and the setting item required for the reset from the transmitting unit provided in the management apparatus;
• and
• displaying, by the image forming apparatus, a screen that prompts the reset of the acquired setting item required for the reset.
