Imaging system

An imaging system comprising:

• an image sensing apparatus configured to sense an object to acquire an image signal and including
• a pixel array in which a plurality of pixels are arrayed in a row direction and a column direction,
• a row selection unit configured to select one row in the pixel array,
• a plurality of A/D converting units provided according to respective columns of the pixel array, and
• a transfer unit configured to transfer signals of a plurality of pixels in the row selected by the selection unit to the plurality of A/D converting units in 1-line period from when the row selection unit selects one row until the row selection unit selects the next row;
• and
• a controller configured to control such that the A/D converting unit to which signals of pixels of the same column are transferred by the transfer unit is changed for each 1-line or for each frame period including the 1-line, in a case that the transfer unit transfers signals of the plurality of pixels to the plurality of A/D converting units.

An imaging system comprising:

• an image sensing apparatus configured to sense an object to acquire an image signal and including
• a pixel array in which a plurality of pixels are arrayed in a row direction and a column direction,
• a row selection unit configured to select one row in the pixel array,
• a plurality of A/D converting units provided according to respective columns of the pixel array,
• a readout unit configured to read out and output signals from the plurality of pixels of the row selected by the row selection unit, and
• an adding unit configured to add signals from the pixels of two or more columns in the pixel array;
• a signal processing unit configured to process the image signal output from said image sensing apparatus to generate image data;
• and
• a controller configured to switch between a first addition processing in which the adding unit adds signals from the pixels of two or more columns in the pixel array and a second addition processing in which the adding unit does not add signals from the pixels of two or more columns but said signal processing unit adds signals from the pixels of two or more columns based on a frame rate of the image signal.

An imaging system comprising:

• an image sensing apparatus configured to sense an object to acquire an image signal and including
• a pixel array in which a plurality of pixels are arrayed in a row direction and a column direction,
• a row selection unit configured to select one row in the pixel array,
• a plurality of A/D converting units provided according to respective columns of the pixel array, and
• a readout unit configured to read out and output signals from the pixels in a part of columns of the row selected by the row selection unit,
• a signal processing unit configured to process the image signal output from said image sensing apparatus to generate image data;
• and
• a controller configured to switch between a first mode in which the signal of the pixel in a first column in the pixel array is read out and the signal of the pixel in a second column in the pixel array is not read out and a second mode in which the signals of pixels in all columns are read out and the signal of the pixel in the second column is invalidated by said signal processing unit, based on a frame rate of the image signal.
