Abstract
A wireless interface module is used with at least one of a light bar, a control head, and/or a siren so that a mobile device can wirelessly control the light bar and/or siren via a user interface.
Claims22
A system for controlling the use of signaling equipment on an emergency vehicle with a power supply, comprising:
- a light bar powered by the power supply and having a plurality of light heads for providing visual emergency warning signals;
- and
- a wireless interface module mountable on the vehicle for communicating with a mobile device having a user interface, said module powered by the power supply, said user interface configured to receive operating instructions to be transmitted to the light bar.
A system comprising:
- a siren;
- a control head having a control head processor connected to the siren, said control head for use by an operator to provide operating instructions to the siren;
- and
- a wireless interface module connected to the control head processor for communicating with a mobile device via a user interface provided to the mobile device by the wireless interface module, said user interface for use by the operator to provide operating instructions to the siren via the wireless interface module and the control head processor.
A system comprising:
- a light bar device;
- a siren device;
- a control head device responsive to operator input for controlling the light bar device and the siren device;
- a mobile device;
- a plurality of communication chips;
- and
- a wireless interface module connected to only one of the light bar device, the siren device, and the control head device;
- wherein each of the other devices not connected the wireless interface module is connected to one of the communication chips so that the devices communicate with each other via the wireless interface module.
A system comprising:
- a light bar device;
- a siren device;
- a mobile device;
- two communication chips;
- and
- a wireless interface module connected to the light bar device;
- wherein the siren device and the mobile device are each connected to one of the communication chips so that the devices communicate with each other via the wireless interface module and wherein there is no separate control head for either of the light bar device and the siren device.
A system comprising:
- a light bar device having a wireless communication chip;
- a siren device connected to a wireless interface module;
- a mobile device having a wireless communication chip;
- and
- wherein the devices communicate with each other via the wireless interface module and wherein there is no separate control head for of the light bar device and the siren device.
A system for controlling the use of signaling equipment on a vehicle comprising a power supply, a light bar powered by the power supply and having a plurality of light heads for providing emergency warning signals, and a control head for use by an operator to provide operating instructions to the light bar, the system comprising:
- a wireless interface module connected to a control head or to a light bar, the wireless interface module configured to communicate with a mobile device via a user interface displayed by the mobile device wherein the wireless interface module is configured to provide user interface instructions to the mobile device which when executed by the mobile device result in the display of the user interface, said module powered by the power supply, said user interface for use by the operator to provide operating instructions to the light bar via the wireless interface module.
