Abstract
Methods for evaluating a fuel are provided. In one embodiment, a method of evaluating a fuel includes providing a testing specimen of the fuel. Also, the method includes analyzing the testing specimen and identifying a compound in the testing specimen. The method also provides for determining the fuel is biologically-sourced based on the identified trace compound.

A method of evaluating a fuel comprising:
- providing a testing specimen of the fuel;
- analyzing the testing specimen;
- identifying a trace compound in the testing specimen;
- and
- determining if the fuel is biologically-sourced based on the identified trace compound.

- analyzing the fuel to identify a compound therein;

- determining that at least a portion of the fuel is biologically-sourced based on the identified compound.
A method of evaluating an aviation fuel comprising:
- enhancing a trace compound in the aviation fuel for analysis;
- analyzing the aviation fuel to identify the enhanced trace compound therein;

- identifying a feedstock as a source for the fuel based on the identified trace compound.
