Abstract
A device for simulating a chemosensation of smoking includes an outer layer, a porous medium and a chemesthetic agent. The porous medium is disposed within the outer layer. The chemesthetic agent is disposed within the porous medium and activates a TRP channel.
Claims30
A device for simulating a chemosensation of smoking, comprising:
- an outer layer;
- a porous medium disposed within the outer layer;
- and
- a chemesthetic agent that activates a TRP channel disposed within the porous medium, the chemesthetic agent including at least one of Zingiberaceae extract, Brassicaceae extract, Toddalioidae extract and Lamiaceae extract.

A device for simulating a chemosensation of smoking, comprising:
- an outer layer;
- a porous medium disposed within the outer layer;
- and
- a chemesthetic agent that activates a TRP channel disposed within the porous medium, the chemesthetic agent including at least one of 6-paradol, isothiocyanate, hydroxy-α-sanshool, 1′-acetoxychavicol, camphor, eugenol and thymol.
1 more element
A device for simulating a chemosensation of smoking, comprising:
- an outer layer;
- a porous medium disposed within the outer layer;
- and
- ethanol disposed within the porous medium, wherein
- a quantity of the ethanol dispersed within the porous medium is in an amount sufficient to activate TRPV1 and elicit chemesthetic sensations.
