Abstract

A method for adjusting video image compression using a gesture, adapted to compress a video image displayed by an electronic device having a touch screen, is provided. In the method, a video image is displayed on the touch screen. Next, a first touch operation executed by a user on the video image is detected by using the touch screen, and a region of interest (ROI) and a non-ROI in the video image are determined according to the first touch operation. Then, compression methods for the ROI and the non-ROI are adjusted and used to compress the video image in the ROI and the non-ROI.

Dependent claims

A method for adjusting video image compression using a gesture, adapted to compress a video image displayed by an electronic device, wherein the electronic device comprises a touch screen, the method comprising:

displaying the video image on the touch screen;
detecting a first touch operation executed on the video image by using the touch screen, and determining a region of interest (ROI) and a non-ROI according to the first touch operation;
and
adjusting compression methods for the ROI and the non-ROI, and using the adjusted compression methods for compressing the video image in the ROI and the non-ROI.
