Media relay

A media server configured to relay media received from a computational device at a first user's premises to a display device at a second user's premises, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory coupled to the processor and configured to store instructions that cause the processor to:
• receive streaming media from a source device located at the first user's premises;
• and
• stream the media using the media server to the display device at the second user's premises;
• wherein the media server is located remotely from the first users' and the second user's premises.

A method for Network Address Translation (NAT) traversal that couples a first device behind a NAT device to a second device, comprising:

• receiving a first request from the first device to open a connection with the second device;
• receiving a second request from the second device to open a connection with the first device, wherein the second request includes the second device's connection address;
• and
• sending the second device's connection address to the first device which allows the first device to connect to the second device.

A system for Network Address Translation (NAT) traversal that couples a first device behind a NAT server to a second device, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory coupled to the processor and storing instructions that cause the processor to:
• receive a first request from the first device to open a connection with the second device;
• receive a second request from the second device to open a connection with the first device, wherein the second request includes the second device's connection address;
• and
• send the second device's connection address to the first device which allows the first device to connect to the second device.

A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer readable medium that includes instructions that when executed cause a computational device at a first user's premises to perform steps to relay media to a display device at a second user's premises via a media server, wherein the media server is located remote from the first user's and second user's premises, the steps comprising:

• receiving a command to relay media to the display device at the second user's premises;
• requesting authorization from the media server to transmit media;
• receiving authorization from the media server to transmit media;
• and
• transmitting media to the media server, wherein the transmitted media is received for viewing on the display device at the second users' premises via the media server.
