Abstract

The present invention is a system and method for providing a trading platform for the trade of F.I.s. According to some embodiments of the present invention, there may be provided a server or server cluster including at least one Interfacing Server adapted to interface with a user, possibly via a distributed data network such as the interne. The IS1 may be adapted to present to a user a trading platform, to receive from a user trade instructions, via the platform, and execute them. The trading platform may include innovative trade options including mid-trade options (e.g. trade insurance), batch trade options, series trade options, parlay trade options and “close now”/“extend” options.

Dependent claims

A system for facilitating automated trade of Financial Instruments (F.I.), comprising:

a transaction server which facilitates deposit and withdrawal of funds from a user account associated with a given user;
an accounts database, functionally associated with said transaction server which stores the user account;
a trading module functionally associated with said accounts database which facilitates trade of F.I. using funds from the user account;
processing circuitry which calculates a fee for insuring a given F.I. trade, wherein insuring a given F.I. trade is defined as reimbursing a user for losses incurred as a result of the given F.I. trade;
and
a graphic user interface (GUI), functionally associated with said trading module which:
a. receives from the given user parameters defining a first F.I. trade;
b. presents to the given user a first control element within said interface for executing the first F.I. trade;
c. displays to the given user a fee for insuring the first F.I. trade, as calculated by said processing circuitry;
and
d. presents to the given user a second control element within said interface for insuring the first F.I. trade;
wherein, in response to the given user interacting with the second control element, the transaction server debits the user account the displayed fee and subsequently reimburses the user account for losses resulting from the first F.I. trade.

A method of facilitating automated Financial Instruments (F.I.) trading comprising:

providing a graphic user interface (GUI) for trading F.I. which includes a first trading option for a user to define a combination of two or more F.I trade orders as a trade parlay, wherein a F.I. trade order is defined as an instruction to purchase or sell a given Financial Instrument in exchange for a price of the given Financial Instrument on a financial market;
receiving from the user, via the GUI, parameters defining first and second F.I. trade orders, wherein a combination of the first and second F.I. trade orders is defined by the user, by means of the first trading option, as a first trade parlay;
presenting to the user a single control element, within the GUI, associated with the first trade parlay;
in response to the user interacting with the single control element, executing the trade parlay such that:
(1) in the event that the first and second F.I. trade orders each result in a profit, crediting an account associated with the user with a profit greater than the profit would be had the first and second trade orders been performed separately;
and
(2) in the event that either the first or second F.I. trade orders do not result in a profit, debiting an account associated with the user all of the funds risked in the first trade parlay.
