Abstract
A system and method for high-speed processing of mail pieces is disclosed. The high-speed system includes client server that forms and prints a shipping label comprising reduced Information-Based Indicia (RIBI) on each piece of mail. The client server provides funds to the system server and reports the RIBI usage to the system server. The system server issues tokens to the client server that allow the client server to the print a shipping label including RIBI indicia for a certain value of postage.
Claims20
A high speed mail processing method comprising:
- forming, by a processor based system, a plurality of datasets;
- generating a plurality of shipping labels, wherein each shipping label comprises a respective reduced information base indicium, wherein each said respective reduced information based indicium is formed using a respective dataset, wherein said respective reduced information based indicium evidences payment of said shipping label, wherein each said respective reduced information based indicium comprises less than enough information to generate a respective full information based indicium;
- mapping said respective reduced information based indicium to a corresponding full information based indicium that was formed using said respective dataset, wherein said mapping is done for each of said respective reduced information based indicium;
- and
- sending each respective full information based indicium and said mapping to a remote location for storage.
A high speed mail processing method comprising:
- receiving, from said processor based system, a plurality of datasets that are respectively associated with a corresponding reduced information based indicium, wherein said corresponding reduced information based indicium comprises less than enough information to generate a full information based indicium;
- generating a respective full information based indicium using each said respective dataset;
- and
- creating a mapping of each said corresponding reduced information base indicium with said respective full information based indicium that was generated using said respective dataset;
- and
- storing each of said respective full information based indicium and each of said mappings.
A high speed mail processing system comprising:
- a processor based system operable to form a plurality of datasets, each dataset comprising enough information to create a corresponding full information based indicium, wherein said processor based system is further operable to form a reduced information based indicium that is generated using a portion of said information of a dataset of said datasets, wherein said reduce information based indicium comprises less than enough information to create a full information based indicium, and wherein said processor based system is further operable to map said reduced information based indicium to said reduced information based indicium's corresponding full information based indicium;
- and
- a shipping label comprising said reduced information based indicium, wherein said shipping label's reduced information based indicium evidences payment of said shipping label.
