Stent With Enhanced Friction

An intravascular device, which comprises:

• a body having an un-deployed orientation for introduction and passage through vasculature for positioning adjacent a deployment site therewithin, and a deployed orientation in which the body is retained within the vasculature at the deployment site, the body defining interior and exterior surfaces, at least a segment of the interior surface having a roughened surface finish.

An intravascular stent, which comprises:

• a stent body defining a stent axis and having interior and exterior surfaces coaxially arranged about the stent axis, the stent body being adapted to transition from an un-deployed orientation for introduction and passage through vasculature for positioning adjacent a deployment site therewithin, and a deployed orientation in which the body is retained within the vasculature at the deployment site, the stent body defining interior and exterior surfaces, at least a segment of the interior surface having a roughened surface finish relative to a surface finish of the exterior surface.
