Abstract
A method and apparatus for providing handover trigger mechanisms using multiple metrics in a TD-SCDMA system is provided. The method may comprise determining if a difference between a distance from a UE to a neighbor Node B and a distance from the UE to a serving Node B meets a criteria, and determining whether to perform a handover from said serving Node B to said neighbor Node B based on whether the determined difference meets the criteria.
Claims40
A method of wireless communication in a time division synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) system, comprising:
- determining if a difference between a distance from a UE to a neighbor Node B and a distance from the UE to a serving Node B meets a criteria;
- and
- determining whether to perform a handover from said serving Node B to said neighbor Node B based on whether the determined difference meets the criteria.
An apparatus for wireless communication in a time division synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) system, comprising:
- means for determining if a difference between a distance from a UE to a neighbor Node B and a distance from the UE to a serving Node B meets a criteria;
- and
- means for determining whether to perform a handover from said serving Node B to said neighbor Node B based on whether the determined difference meets the criteria.
A computer program product, comprising:
- a computer-readable medium comprising code for:
- determining if a difference between a distance from a UE to a neighbor Node B and a distance from the UE to a serving Node B meets a criteria;
- and
- determining whether to perform a handover from said serving Node B to said neighbor Node B based on whether the determined difference meets the criteria.
An apparatus for wireless communication in a time division synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) system, comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- a memory coupled to the at least one processor,
- wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- determine if a difference between a distance from a UE to a neighbor Node B and a distance from the UE to a serving Node B meets a criteria;
- and
- determine whether to perform a handover from said serving Node B to said neighbor Node B based on whether the determined difference meets the criteria.
