Abstract
A system is provided for allowing mobile stations to exchange identification information using a predetermined communication path for the purpose of obtaining identification information to use in establishing a different communication path for communicating.

A method in a mobile device comprising:
- sending a first message to another mobile device, the first message comprising a first network identification code;
- receiving from the other mobile device a second message, the second message comprising a second network identification code that is associated with the other mobile device;
- and
- requesting a communication link with the other mobile device using the second network identification code.
