Flange protector and lug

A flange protector flange for use in connection with a flange having bolt holes therein, said flange protector comprising a flexible impact-resistant material having a cover portion, the flange protector having multiple lugs insertable into bolt holes on the flange,

• wherein each lug comprises a deformable lug body having an upper end which in use is attached to a portion of said flange protector and a lower end spaced from said upper end and insertable into the bolt hole of a flange to be protected, said lug body being hollow and having an opening in an end of said lower end, said lower end being defined by a circumferential arcuate surface terminating at said opening in said lower end, said upper end having disconnected shoulder portions on said lug body, each said shoulder portion having an oblique surface terminating at said lower end portion at a point spaced from said end of said lower end and extending partially around said upper end, and said oblique surface spaced from said upper end of said lug body.
