Abstract
The invention provides seed and plants of tomato hybrid EX15567631 and the parent lines thereof. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of tomato hybrid EX15567631 and the parent lines thereof, and to methods for producing a tomato plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another tomato plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of such plants, including the fruit and gametes of such plants.
Claims34
A tomato plant comprising at least a first set of the chromosomes of tomato line FDR 14-2098, a sample of seed of said line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-11673.
A seed comprising at least a first set of the chromosomes of tomato line FDR 14-2098, a sample of seed of said line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-11673.
A method of introducing a desired trait into a tomato line comprising:
- (a) crossing a plant of line FDR 14-2098, a sample of seed of said line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-11673, with a second tomato plant that comprises a desired trait to produce F1 progeny;
- (b) selecting an F1 progeny that comprises the desired trait;
- (c) crossing the selected F1 progeny with a plant of line FDR 14-2098 to produce backcross progeny;
- and
- (d) repeating steps (b) and (c) three or more times to produce selected fourth or higher backcross progeny that comprise the desired trait.
A method of producing a plant comprising a single locus conversion, the method comprising obtaining a plant of line FDR 14-2098 comprising the single locus conversion, and crossing the plant of line FDR 14-2098 comprising the single locus conversion with a plant of line FDR-9Q08131, a sample of seed of said lines having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-11673 and ATCC Accession No. PTA-11672, respectively.
A method of producing a plant comprising a transgene, the method comprising introducing a transgene into a plant of tomato hybrid EX15567631 or tomato line FDR 14-2098, a sample of seed of said hybrid and line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. 11948 and ATCC Accession No. PTA-11673, respectively.
A plant of tomato hybrid EX15567631 or tomato line FDR 14-2098 further comprising a transgene, a sample of seed of said hybrid and line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. 11948 and ATCC Accession No. PTA-11673, respectively.
A plant of tomato hybrid EX15567631 or tomato line FDR 14-2098 comprising a single locus conversion, a sample of seed of said hybrid and line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. 11948 and ATCC Accession No. PTA-11673, respectively.
A method for producing a seed of a plant derived from hybrid EX15567631 or line FDR 14-2098 comprising the steps of:
- (a) crossing a tomato plant of hybrid EX15567631 or line FDR 14-2098 with a second tomato plant;
- a sample of seed of said hybrid and line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. 11948 and ATCC Accession No. PTA-11673, respectively;
- and
- (b) allowing seed of a hybrid EX15567631 or line FDR 14-2098-derived tomato plant to form.
