Claims22
A method of treating and/or preventing hyperuricemia or a metabolic disorder associated with hyperuricemia comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of:
- 1) diacerein, 2) rhein, and 3) a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, an analog, a prodrug, or an active metabolite thereof.
A method of improving blood uric acid level control in a patient with gout, hyperuricemia or a metabolic disorder associated with hyperuricemia comprising administering to said patient a therapeutically effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of:
- 1) diacerein, 2) rhein, and 3) a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, an analog, a prodrug, or an active metabolite thereof.
A method of treating and/or preventing hyperuricemia or a metabolic disorder associated with hyperuricemia in a patient receiving a urate-lowering agent or an anti-inflammatory agent, comprising administering to said patient a therapeutically effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of:
- 1) diacerein, 2) rhein, and 3) a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, an analog, a prodrug, or an active metabolite thereof.
A method of treatment for hyperuricemia or a metabolic disorder associated with hyperuricemia in a patient with poor tolerance to therapeutic agents selected from the group consisting of anti-inflammatory agents and urate-lowering agents, comprising administering to said patient a therapeutically effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of:
- 1) diacerein, 2) rhein, and 3) a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, an analog, a prodrug, or an active metabolite thereof.
A pharmaceutical composition for treating and/or preventing hyperuricemia or a metabolic disorder associated with hyperuricemia in a patient comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of:
- 1) diacerein, 2) rhein, and 3) a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, an analog, a prodrug, or an active metabolite thereof.
