Abstract
A golf ball is provided that includes a coating. The coating is designed to allow a golfer to modify or increase the tackiness of the coating. The coating changes tackiness when exposed to a soaking material. A method of determining a desirable length of soak is also disclosed.
Claims20
A layered article, comprising:
- a hydrophilic layer capable of changing in tackiness when exposed to a soaking material;
- an outermost layer partially surrounding the hydrophilic layer;
- and
- the outermost layer defining apertures that are configured to allow a fluid to pass therethrough and contact the hydrophilic layer.

A golf ball, comprising:
- a core;
- a cover radially outward of the core;
- and
- a coating radially outwardly of and at least partially surrounding the cover, the coating being capable of changing tackiness when exposed to a soaking material.
1 more element
A method of changing the tackiness of a golf ball, comprising:
- providing a golf ball having a layer capable of changing in tackiness;
- determining the level of tackiness desired;
- determining the length of time the golf ball must be exposed to a soaking material to achieve the desired level of tackiness;
- and
- exposing the golf ball to the soaking material for the determined length of time.
