Abstract
In an example embodiment, a continuous baler includes a round baler and a pickup conveyor for providing crop to the round baler. The pickup conveyor may include a conveyor belt and a controller for manipulating the conveyor belts. In one example embodiment, the speed of the conveyor is adjusted in accordance with the operation of the baler.
Claims14
A method, comprising:
- operating a variable speed conveyor in a feed direction to convey crop material at the conveyor to a baling chamber of a baler during a bale-forming operation of a baler;
- and
- operating the variable speed conveyor in a non-feed direction during a non-bale-forming operation of the baler.
A method of providing crop material to a baling chamber of a baler, comprising:
- operating a variable speed conveyor at a first speed during bale-forming operation of the baler, the variable speed conveyor configured to provide the crop material to a baling chamber of a baler;
- and
- operating the variable speed conveyor at a second speed during a non-bale forming operation.
