Abstract
Disclosed herein is a light emitting device including: a substrate; a light emitting diode (LED) chip disposed on the substrate; and a phosphor sheet disposed on an upper portion of the LED chip and including alignment members formed on a lower surface thereof. The alignment members contact the LED chip, such that the phosphor sheet is aligned with the LED chip.
Claims21
A light emitting device comprising:
- a substrate;
- a light emitting diode (LED) chip disposed on the substrate;
- and
- a phosphor sheet having an upper surface and an opposing lower surface that is disposed on an upper surface of the LED chip, the phosphor sheet comprising an alignment member that extends from the lower surface.

A phosphor sheet comprising:
- a generally planar body comprising a mixture of a phosphor and a resin;
- and
- an alignment member disposed on a lower surface of the body, the alignment member configured to contact a light-emitting diode (LED) chip to align the body and the LED chip.
A method of manufacturing a light emitting device, the method comprising:
- disposing a lower surface of a phosphor sheet on an upper surface of a light-emitting diode (LED) chip disposed on a substrate, the phosphor sheet comprising an alignment member that extends from the lower surface thereof;
- aligning the phosphor sheet with the LED chip, by contacting the LED chip with the alignment member;
- and
- fixing the aligned phosphor sheet to the LED chip.
