Expansion clamp

A clamp, comprising:

• a T-shaped structure comprising:
• a head configured to be located adjacent a slot in a first structure that is to be clamped to a second structure, the head contacting the second structure when the first and second structures are clamped together, and
• a body extending through the slot in the first structure;
• a cam surrounding a portion of the T-shaped structure;
• a spring located adjacent the cam;
• and
• a rotatable nut having an opening to receive a threaded portion of the body of the T-shaped structure,
• wherein the rotatable nut is configured to be turned such that when portions of the body are aligned with keyways in the first structure, the head is configured to lower and contact the second structure.

A clamp, comprising:

• a T-shaped structure comprising:
• a head configured to be located adjacent a slot in a first structure that is to be clamped to a second structure, the head contacting the second structure when the first and second structures are clamped together, and
• a body extending through the slot in the first structure and an open portion of the second structure;
• a cam surrounding a portion of the T-shaped structure;
• a rotatable nut located adjacent the cam, the body of the T-shaped structure extending through the cam and the rotatable nut;
• and
• a first spring located adjacent the rotatable nut, the spring surrounding at least a portion of the body;
• wherein the rotatable nut is configured to be turned such that when portions of the body are aligned with keyways in the first structure, the head is configured to lower and contact the second structure.

A method, comprising:

• lowering a first strut into an opening in a joiner component, the joiner component being coupled to a second strut;
• inserting a clamp into a slot in the joiner component coupled, wherein the clamp is configured to clamp the first strut to the joiner component and wherein the clamp includes a head, a body, a spring and a rotatable nut;
• turning the rotatable nut a first amount to align portions of the body with keyways in the joiner component, wherein the head contacts the first strut in response to turning the rotatable nut the first amount;
• and
• turning the rotatable nut a second amount after the head contacts the first strut, wherein the clamp compresses the spring and clamps the first strut to the joiner in response to turning the rotatable nut the second amount.
