Abstract
The present teachings provide emulsions using ionic liquids for separation of biomolecules and related methods, compositions, and devices.

A composition comprising:
- an emulsion, the emulsion comprising
- emulsion droplets dispersed within an ionic liquid that forms a continuous phase, the emulsion droplets comprising (i) a solvent that is immiscible with the ionic liquid, and (ii) dissolved biomolecules that are in a charged state.
