Method for guiding route using augmented reality and mobile terminal using the same

A method of providing route guidance information to a mobile terminal, comprising:

• receiving, by a second mobile terminal from a first terminal, at least one of location information of the first mobile terminal and direction information of the first mobile terminal;
• transmitting information from the second mobile terminal to a remote device, the information including the at least one of location information and direction information;
• receiving, by the second mobile terminal, augmented reality information from the remote device, the augmented reality information based on the at least one of location information and direction information of the first mobile terminal;
• and
• transmitting route guidance information from the second mobile terminal to the first mobile terminal.

An apparatus of providing route guidance information to a mobile terminal, comprising:

• a wireless transceiver;
• a display;
• a navigation device;
• and
• a controller operatively connected to the wireless transceiver, the display and the navigation unit, the controller configured to
• generate at least one of location information of the apparatus and direction information of the apparatus,
• transmit information to a remote device, the information including the at least one of location information and direction information,
• receive augmented reality information from the remote device, the augmented reality information based on the at least one of location information and direction information of the apparatus, and
• receive route guidance information from another device.

An apparatus of providing route guidance information to a mobile terminal, comprising:

• a wireless transceiver;
• a display;
• a navigation device;
• and
• a controller operatively connected to the wireless transceiver, the display and the navigation unit, the controller configured to
• receive, from a first terminal, at least one of location information of the first mobile terminal and direction information of the first mobile terminal,
• transmit information to a remote device, the information including the at least one of location information and direction information,
• receive augmented reality information from the remote device, the augmented reality information based on the at least one of location information and direction information of the first mobile terminal, and
• transmit route guidance information to the first mobile terminal.

A system for providing route guidance information to mobile terminals, comprising:

• a first mobile terminal;
• a second mobile terminal;
• and
• a server,
• wherein the first mobile terminal includes a camera, a first wireless transceiver;
• a first display;
• a first navigation device;
• and a first controller operatively connected to the first wireless transceiver, the first display and the first navigation unit, the first controller configured to
• capture an image with the camera,
• generate at least one of location information of the apparatus and direction information of the apparatus,
• transmit information to the server, the information including the at least one of location information and direction information,
• receive augmented reality information from the server, the augmented reality information based on the at least one of location information and direction information of the apparatus,
• transmit the augmented reality information and the image to the second mobile terminal, and
• receive route guidance information from the second mobile terminal,
• wherein the second mobile terminal includes a second wireless transceiver;
• a second display;
• a second navigation device;
• and a second controller operatively connected to the second wireless transceiver, the second display and the second navigation unit, the second controller configured to
• receive the augmented reality information and the image from the first mobile terminal,
• generate the route guidance information, and
• transmit the generated route guidance information to the first mobile terminal.

A system for providing route guidance information to mobile terminals, comprising:

• a first mobile terminal;
• a second mobile terminal;
• and
• a server,
• wherein the first mobile terminal includes a first wireless transceiver;
• a first display;
• a first navigation device;
• and a first controller operatively connected to the first wireless transceiver, the first display and the first navigation unit, the first controller configured to
• generate at least one of location information of the apparatus and direction information of the apparatus,
• transmit information to the second mobile terminal, the information including the at least one of location information and direction information, and
• receive route guidance information from the second mobile terminal,
• wherein the second mobile terminal includes a second wireless transceiver;
• a second display;
• a second navigation device;
• and a second controller operatively connected to the second wireless transceiver, the second display and the second navigation unit, the second controller configured to
• receive the information from the first mobile terminal,
• transmit the information to the server,
• receive augmented reality information from the server based on the at least one of location information and direction information of the first mobile terminal,
• generate the route guidance information, and
• transmit the generated route guidance information to the first mobile terminal.
