Integrated Fingerprint Sensor and Navigation Device

An apparatus comprising:

• a non-conductive substrate providing a first surface onto which a user can apply a fingerprint, and a second surface opposite the first surface onto which a fingerprint sensing circuit is applied;
• a navigation device mounted to the non-conductive substrate and capable of being manipulated by the user.

An apparatus comprising:

• a navigation device for navigating a GUI;
• and
• a non-conductive substrate overlaid on a surface of the navigation device, the non-conductive substrate providing a first surface onto which a user can apply a fingerprint, and a second surface opposite the first surface onto which a fingerprint sensing circuit is applied.
