Method of fast typing twin special characters

A method for inputting characters in an electronic device having an input device for receiving inputs including characters, a display for displaying characters received by the input device, and a memory for storing characters received by the input device, comprising:

• determining if a character received by the input device is an opening character of a particular character pair, the particular character pair being one of a plurality of stored character pairs;
• and
• automatically displaying on the display a corresponding closing character of the particular character pair based on the determination that the character received by the input device is an opening character of the particular character pair.

A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer readable medium carrying program code means for inputting characters in an electronic device having an input device, and a display for displaying characters received by the input device, the program code means comprising:

• means for determining if a character received by the input device is an opening character of a particular character pair, the particular character pair being one of a plurality of stored character pairs;
• and
• means for automatically displaying on the display a corresponding closing character of the particular character pair based on the determination that the character received by the input device is an opening character of the particular character pair.
