Abstract
A system is described, which includes an optical drive and a media server. The media server includes a storage device, and is coupled to the optical drive. The media server is configured to determine whether the optical drive contains an optical disc associated with digital content, and is further configured to receive a request for access to the digital content.

A method, comprising:
- receiving a request for access to digital content;
- and
- verifying a location of a disc associated with said digital content.
A system, comprising:
- an optical drive;
- and
- a media server, comprising a storage device, and coupled to said optical drive,
- wherein said media server is configured to determine whether said optical drive contains an optical disc associated with digital content, and is further configured to receive a request for access to said digital content.

- detecting a change in a presence state associated with a media object;
- and
- updating a list of presence state information, with reference to said change in said presence state associated with said media object.

- receiving a request to import a disc;
