Abstract
A printed circuit board includes an insulating layer, a signal trace, a ground trace, and a fin. The insulating layer has a first surface and an opposite second surface. The signal trace and the ground trace are formed on the first surface of the insulating layer. The first fin is directly formed on the ground trace. Also provided is a method for manufacturing the printed circuit board.
Claims17
A printed circuit board, comprising:
- an insulating layer having a first surface and an opposite second surface;
- at least one signal trace and at least one ground trace formed on the first surface, the signal trace configured for transmitting signals, the at least one ground trace configured for dissipating heat generated by the at least one signal trace;
- and
- a plurality of first fins directly formed on the at least one ground trace.
The printed circuit board as claimed in claimed 1, wherein the ground trace and the first fin are comprised of a same material.
A printed circuit board, comprising:
- an insulating layer having a first surface and an opposite second surface;
- at least one signal trace formed on the first surface of the insulating layer, the signal trace configured for transmitting signals;
- a thermally conductive layer formed on the second surface of the insulating layer;
- and
- a plurality of fins directly formed on the thermally conductive layer.
A method for manufacturing a printed circuit board, comprising:
- providing a copper clad laminate comprising an insulating layer and a first copper layer, the insulating layer having a first surface and an opposite second surface, the first copper layer formed on the first surface;
- treating the first copper layer to form at least one signal trace and at least one ground trace;
- and
- forming at least one first fin directly on the at least one ground trace by electroplating.
