Systems and methods for providing 9-1-1 services to nomadic internet telephony callers

A method, comprising:

• receiving, from a telephony device and by a server device, a set of dialed digits that correspond to an emergency telephone number;
• replacing, by the server device, the set of dialed digits with a set of dialed digits that correspond to an operator services number;
• and
• forwarding, by the server device, a call, associated with the set of dialed digits, where the forwarding is based on the operator services number.

A non-transitory computer-readable memory device storing instructions that are executable by one or more processors of a server device, the instructions comprising:

• one or more instructions to receive, from a telephony device, a set of dialed digits that correspond to an emergency telephone number;
• one or more instructions to replace the set of dialed digits with a set of dialed digits that correspond to an operator services number;
• and
• one or more instructions to forward a call, associated with the set of dialed digits, where the forwarding is based on the operator services number.

A method, comprising:

• receiving, from a telephony device, a set of dialed digits that correspond to an emergency telephone number;
• determining, in response to receiving the set of dialed digits, whether the telephony device is a mobile device or a fixed device;
• processing the set of dialed digits in a first manner when the telephony device is a mobile device;
• and
• processing the set of dialed digits in a second manner when the telephony device is a fixed device.
