Iterative multi-stage detection technique for a diversity receiver having multiple antenna elements

A method for processing signals, the method comprising:

• generating at a receiver, a plurality of scrambled sets of channel signals based on a plurality of spread replicas of a received signal, wherein said plurality of spread replicas are spread using a corresponding plurality of orthogonal sequences;
• and
• multiplexing at least a portion of said generated plurality of scrambled sets onto a corresponding plurality of multiplexed channel signals on a receiver chain of said receiver.

A system for processing signals, the system comprising:

• at least one processor within a receiver, said at least one processor operative to generate at said receiver, a plurality of scrambled sets of channel signals based on a plurality of spread replicas of a received signal, wherein said plurality of spread replicas are spread using a corresponding plurality of orthogonal sequences;
• and
• said at least one processor is operative to multiplex at least a portion of said generated plurality of scrambled sets onto a corresponding plurality of multiplexed channel signals on a receiver chain of said receiver.

A system for processing signals, the system comprising:

• one or more circuits within a receiver, said one or more circuits operative to generate at said receiver, a plurality of scrambled sets of channel signals based on a plurality of spread replicas of a received signal, wherein said plurality of spread replicas are spread using a corresponding plurality of orthogonal sequences;
• and
• said one or more circuits is operative to multiplex at least a portion of said generated plurality of scrambled sets onto a corresponding plurality of multiplexed channel signals on a receiver chain of said receiver.
