Abstract
The present invention refers to an inorganic proton conducting electrolyte consisting of a mesoporous crystalline metal oxide matrix and a heteropolyacid bound within the mesoporous matrix. The present invention also refers to a fuel cell including such an electrolyte and methods for manufacturing such inorganic electrolytes.
Claims36
An inorganic proton conducting electrolyte consisting of a mesoporous crystalline metal oxide matrix and a heteropolyacid bound within the mesoporous matrix.
The inorganic proton conducting electrolyte according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the mesoporous crystalline metal oxide matrix comprises a mesostructure with at least one dimension in the range of between about 2 to 50 nm.
The inorganic proton conducting electrolyte according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the heteropolyacid bound in the crystalline metal oxide matrix adopts at least one structure which is selected from the group consisting of the Keggin structure, the Silverton structure, the Dawson structure, the Waugh structure, and the Anderson structure.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
