Method and Arrangement for Handling a Radio Receiver in a Wireless Communication Network

A method in a user equipment for handling a radio receiver in the user equipment, the radio receiver being adapted to receive signals from a first network over a radio link and the user equipment having a battery, the method comprising:

• detecting an increase of battery power consumption in the user equipment;
• and
• increasing an activity level of the receiver based on a detected increase of battery power consumption.

A network node arranged to handle a radio receiver in a user equipment, the network node and user equipment being configured for inclusion in a wireless communication network, the network node comprising:

• an associating unit arranged to associate a first power consumption from a battery in the user equipment to a first receiver activity level, and to associate an increased second power consumption from the battery in the user equipment to an increased second receiver activity level;
• and
• a sending unit arranged to send information to the user equipment about the first power consumption and to send information to the user equipment about the second power consumption.
