Method and Device for Regulating Fluid Pump Pressures

A method for regulating fluid pump pressures at the distal end of a solution line in an intravenous fluid delivery system, the intravenous fluid delivery system comprising a fluid flow control apparatus having a pressure-driven membrane-based fluid pump fluidly connected to the solution line, the method comprising:

• establishing a desired pressure limit for fluid pressure at the distal end of the of the solution line;
• calculating a driving pressure to be applied to the membrane-based fluid pump based on the pressure differential between the static pressure at the distal end of the solution line and the static pressure in the fluid flow control apparatus;
• applying the driving pressure to the membrane-based fluid pump to achieve a pressure at the distal end of the solution line that does not exceed the desired pressure limit.

A method for regulating fluid pump pressures at the distal end of a solution line in fluid flow control system, fluid flow control system comprising a fluid flow control apparatus having a pressure-driven membrane-based fluid pump fluidly connected to the solution line, the method comprising:

• establishing a desired pressure limit for fluid pressure at the distal end of the of the solution line;
• calculating a driving pressure to he applied to the membrane-based fluid pump based on the pressure differential between the static pressure at the distal end of the solution line and the static pressure in the fluid flow control apparatus;
• applying the driving pressure to the membrane-based fluid pump to achieve a pressure at the distal end of the solution line that does not exceed the desired pressure limit.
