Automotive Protectant Compositions with Improved Vertical Cling

An automotive protectant composition comprising:

• (a) a nonionic surfactant;
• (b) a anionic surfactant;
• (c) about 5% to 15% by weight of a polyorganosiloxane;
• (d) about 0.05% to 0.3% by weight of a rheology modifier;
• (e) sodium benzoate;
• and
• (f) about 65% to 95% by weight of water;
• wherein the ratio of the nonionic surfactant to the anionic surfactant is about 1:1 to about 3:2.

An automotive protectant composition consisting of:

• (a) a mixture of nonionic and anionic surfactants;
• (c) at least about 5% by weight of a silicone;
• (d) about 0.05% to 0.3% by weight of a rheology modifier;
• (e) sodium benzoate;
• (f) optionally, one or more adjuncts selected from the group consisting of:
• chelators, builders, alkalizing agents, descalers, foam boosters, foam suppressants, surface modification agents, pH adjustors, pH buffers, wetting agents, stain and soil repellants, waxes, resins, polishes, colloid stabilizers, waxes, lubricants, odor control agents, perfumes, fragrances and fragrance release agents, brighteners, ultraviolet light (UV) absorbers, UV scatterers, dyes and/or colorants, phase stabilizers, emulsifiers, thickeners, defoamers, hydrotropes, cloud point modifiers, antimicrobial agents, and preservatives;
• and
• (g) about 65% to 95% by weight of water.
