Abstract
An apparatus and method for information storage and retrieval of communication network performance data includes a first step 200 of obtaining performance data from network entities. A next step 202 includes generating a rating for the performance data relating to how interesting that data is to network entities. A next step 204 includes archiving a portion of the performance data in response to the rating of the performance data.

A method for information storage and retrieval of communication network performance data, the method comprising the steps of:
- obtaining performance data from network entities;
- generating a rating for the performance data relating to how interesting that data is to network entities;
- and
- archiving a portion of the performance data in response to the rating of the performance data.
An apparatus for information storage and retrieval of communication network performance data, the apparatus including a local expert manager comprising:
- a receiver operable to obtain performance data from network entities;
- a processor coupled to the receiver and operable to generate a rating for the performance data relating to how interesting that data is to network entities;
- and
- a memory coupled to the processor and operable to archive a portion of the performance data in response to the rating of the performance data.
