Abstract
Disclosed are pivoting structures and methods of pivoting structure. The pivoting structures can include a movable shutter plate including an aperture, pivotally fastened to a supporting plate by the pivot pin, and having a slot that receives a slot pin of a rotator, the movable shutter configured to move across the rotator as the first housing and second housing change their orientations with respect to one another. In a particular position, an aperture of the moveable shutter plate is aligned with an aperture of the first housing.
Claims16
A pivoting structure including a first housing and a second housing, comprising:
- a opening mechanism configured to allow the first housing and the second housing to pivot with respect to one another, the first housing including a camera including a lens, the camera resting in an aperture of the second housing;
- and
- a movable shutter plate including a shutter aperture directly coupled to the opening mechanism, the movable shutter plate being configured to move so that the shutter aperture is aligned with the lens of the camera.
A pivoting structure including a first housing and a second housing, comprising:
- the first housing coupled to a rotator, the rotator including a slot pin;
- the second housing including a supporting plate adjacent the rotator, the supporting plate including a pivot pin;
- and
- a movable shutter plate including an aperture, pivotally fastened to the supporting plate by the pivot pin, and having a slot that receives the slot pin of the rotator, the movable shutter configured to move across the rotator as the first housing and second housing change their orientations with respect to one another.
A method of a rotator form factor device having a first housing and a second housing configured for rotational movement with respect to one another, the first housing having an aperture and a plate pivotally coupled to a structural component, and in moveably coupled to one or more rotational components shared by the first housing and the second housing, the method comprising:
- pivotally moving the plate over the aperture during rotational movement of the first housing and the second housing with respect to one another;
- and
- positioning an aperture of the plate over the aperture of the first housing when the first housing and the second housing are at a particular position with respect to one another.
