Method for parameterizing operating means

A method for parameterizing operating means connected to a data transmission medium), comprising:

• storing in memory, in each case, a device description for at least several of the connected operating means, each device description containing at least one function and a parameter set belonging thereto;
• la) storing in memory a list of several predefined device functions, for which the corresponding parameter set will be assigned in each case to the operating means that support the device function;
• assigning of several different parameter sets to at least one predefined device function, which can be used in each case for the parameterizing of a separate operating means;
• selecting at least one device function;
• selecting several operating means that support the selected device function;
• and
• parameterizing, in response to the selected device function, at least one operating means that supports the selected device function;
• and
• transmitting the parameter sets assigned to the selected device function to the operating means belonging thereto in each case and the parameterizing of this selected operating means with the individual parameter set.
