Method, Apparatus and Computer Program Product for Providing a Mobile Streaming Adaptor

A method comprising:

• communicating with a mobile networked device through a network connection for accepting control command;
• accepting control commands from the mobile networked device to start capturing, encoding and encapsulating process;
• receiving media content from a remote camera;
• processing the received media content by capturing, encoding and encapsulating the media content at a mobile electronic device;
• connecting to a remote streaming server through function of a mobile networked device;
• and
• streaming the encapsulated media content to the mobile networked device for communication of the encapsulated content to the remote streaming server through an Internet Protocol (IP) network for real-time distribution to a communication device.

A computer program product comprising at least one computer-readable storage medium having computer-executable program code instructions stored therein, the computer-executable program code instructions comprising:

• program code instructions for receiving media content from a remote camera;
• program code instructions for processing the received media content by capturing, encoding and encapsulating the media content at a mobile electronic device;
• program code instructions for connecting to a remote streaming server through function of a mobile networked device;
• and
• program code instructions for streaming the encapsulated media content to the mobile networked device for communication of the encapsulated content to the remote streaming server through an Internet Protocol (IP) network for real-time distribution to a communication device.

An apparatus comprising a controller configured to:

• provide control commands to a mobile electronic device configured to receive media content from a remote camera, the control commands directing processing of the received media content at the mobile electronic device, the processing including capturing, encoding and encapsulating the media content;
• receive the processed media content;
• and
• stream the processed media content to a streaming server for real-time distribution to a communication device.
