Capability Service in Communications System

A communications system, wherein the system is configured to

• provide a feature identifier related to a service capability of a user terminal,
• determine, on the basis of the feature identifier, whether or not the user terminal is capable of utilizing a more advanced service than indicated by the feature identifier;
• wherein if the user terminal is capable of utilizing a more advanced service than indicated by the feature identifier, the system is configured to
• provide updated feature identifier in order to indicate the more advanced service capability of the user terminal.

A core network node of a communications system wherein the core network node is configured to

• provide a feature identifier related to a service capability of a user terminal,
• determine, on the basis of the feature identifier, whether or not the user terminal is capable of utilizing a more advanced service than indicated by the feature identifier;
• wherein if the user terminal is capable of utilizing a more advanced service than indicated by the feature identifier, the core network node is configured to
• provide an updated feature identifier in order to indicate the more advanced service capability of the user terminal.

A user terminal for a communications system, wherein the user terminal is capable of providing a feature identifier related to a service capability of the user terminal,

• wherein the user terminal is configured to
• determine, on the basis of the feature identifier, whether or not the user terminal is capable of utilizing a more advanced service than indicated by the feature identifier;
• wherein if the user terminal is capable of utilizing a more advanced service than indicated by the feature identifier, the user terminal is configured to
• provide an updated feature identifier in order to indicate the more advanced service capability of the user terminal.

A core network node of a communications system, the core network node comprising

• means for providing a feature identifier related to a service capability of a user terminal,
• means for determining, on the basis of the feature identifier, whether or not the user terminal is capable of utilizing a more advanced service than indicated by the feature identifier;
• wherein, if the user terminal is capable of utilizing a more advanced service than indicated by the feature identifier, the core network node comprises
• means for providing an updated feature identifier in order to indicate the more advanced service capability of the user terminal.

A user terminal for a communications system, wherein the user terminal is capable of providing a feature identifier related to a service capability of the user terminal,

• wherein the user terminal comprises
• means for determining, on the basis of the feature identifier, whether or not the user terminal is capable of utilizing a more advanced service than indicated by the feature identifier;
• wherein if the user terminal is capable of utilizing a more advanced service than indicated by the feature identifier, the user terminal comprises
• means for providing an updated feature identifier in order to indicate the more advanced service capability of the user terminal.
